What you’ll do

A Risk and Compliance Specialist plays a crucial role in helping Mambu identify, assess, and mitigate risks while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations to safeguard the organisation's reputation, assets, and long-term sustainability.

 

  • Conducting risk assessments to identify potential threats to the Mambu’s  operations, assets, and objectives 
  • Monitoring regulatory changes and updates to ensure the organisation remains compliant with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards
  • Developing, updating, and implementing internal policies, procedures, and controls to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Performing internal audits to assess the effectiveness of risk management processes, compliance programs, and internal controls, and making recommendations for improvement
  • Generating reports and maintaining documentation related to risk assessments and compliance activities
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders, such as management, legal, finance, and operations teams, as well as external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies and auditors, to address risk and compliance-related concerns and inquiries
  • Developing and implementing plans for responding to incidents or breaches related to risk and compliance, including conducting investigations, implementing corrective actions, and reporting to relevant parties
  • Stay up to date with changes in regulations and industry best practices, proactively recommending necessary changes to Mambu’s risk and compliance framework.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide guidance and training for risk and compliance matters
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of risk assessments, incidents, and actions taken to mitigate the same
  • Perform due diligence assessments for Mambu’s counterparties and process economic sanctions alerts

What you’ll bring

  • Previous experience in a risk management, compliance, audit, or related role
  • Knowledge of risk management (1st, 2nd and 3rd line)
  • Familiarity with risk assessment methodologies, internal control frameworks, and auditing practices
  • Strong understanding of risk management principles, compliance frameworks, and regulatory requirements
  • Analytical skills to assess and evaluate risks, interpret regulatory requirements, and develop effective risk mitigation strategies
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in documentation, reporting, and compliance-related tasks
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Problem-solving skills to identify issues, analyse root causes, and recommend solutions to address compliance gaps or mitigate risks
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, manage multiple tasks
  • Experience conducting due diligence assessments
  • Experience of working in a Product-led SaaS company / Affinity for technology
