About the team

Join our Data Services team (part of Platform & Support) and help redefine how we manage customer data—from import to extraction and archiving. We’re modernizing our data solutions by phasing out legacy systems and building secure, cost-effective, and highly reliable services. You’ll drive the unification of data services, establish robust growth and archival frameworks, and eliminate database schema exposure. Your expertise will directly boost profitability, innovation, and the creation of best-in-class data solutions for Mambu’s future.

• Collaborate with Product and Engineering leaders in Data Services (Governance, Migration, Reporting) to set strategic direction, modernize data platforms, and manage ongoing operations.
• Lead the design and implementation of scalable, robust data services, from import to archiving, while deprecating legacy systems.
• Develop enterprise architecture frameworks and investment roadmaps for data solutions aligned with business goals.
• Establish and enforce standards and best practices for data architecture and coding.
• Track and drive adoption of architectural principles, ensuring visibility into the health of the data tech portfolio.
• Mentor Data Services teams to ensure quality, innovation, and alignment, focusing on audit automation, retention, and reporting modernization.
• Oversee the design, performance, and security of data extraction mechanisms (e.g., Mambu Extract, Data Insights).
• Ensure solutions meet organizational standards and security requirements, especially around database schema exposure.
• Implement CI/CD for data services to enable predictable and visible engineering processes.
• Deliver on-time, scalable data solutions while managing technical debt (e.g., removing Redis, DDEP, Nakadi dependencies).
• Manage budgets, vendor relationships, and multi-cloud costs to ensure efficiency and profitability.
• Provide leadership updates on modernization progress, risks, and consolidation strategies.
• Stay ahead of industry trends in data management, governance, and reporting, ensuring teams upskill and adopt emerging technologies.
• Define and lead the AI strategy for data insights, transforming raw data into business entities through secure, ethical solutions.

• 12+ years leading mission-critical cloud infrastructure with deep expertise in data management and data services, combining strategic vision with hands-on execution.
• Architected and delivered secure, high-performance data extraction and transformation solutions aligned with enterprise coding standards.
• Drove engineering excellence in data-intensive applications, unifying scattered data solutions and improving system reliability and profitability.
• Experienced technical leader for data governance, migration, and reporting teams, with a hands-on approach (e.g., code reviews).
• Expert in data strategy, machine learning, and scalable, ethical AI solutions, transforming raw data into actionable business entities.
• Skilled in enterprise-wide technology standards, cloud budget optimization, and resource efficiency for data services.
• Up-to-date on trends in scalable data architectures, governance, migration, and modern reporting technologies.
• Cloud platform expertise: AWS (required); GCP and Azure (bonus).
• Experienced with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) for scalable data application deployments.
• Led large-scale data migrations and phased out legacy systems (e.g., database backups).
• Strong in observability (Prometheus, Grafana), automation, and IaC (CloudFormation, Terraform) for data infrastructure.
• Proven experience with DevOps/DevSecOps and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab) for data services.
• Deep understanding of data security, including database schema exposure and sensitive data handling.
