About the team 

You will lead the Builder Experience & Observability function within Platform Engineering — responsible for improving how engineers build, test, deploy, and operate Mambu’s core banking platform.

The team focuses on frictionless developer workflows, reliable CI/CD pipelines, and strong observability foundations. We partner closely with Product Engineering, SRE, Security, and Architecture to strengthen release velocity and system reliability through automation, visibility, and high-quality engineering practices.

• • Lead the evolution of Mambu’s builder experience and observability ecosystem that enables hundreds of engineers to deliver banking workloads safely and efficiently.
  • Define and execute the CI/CD transformation roadmap, modernizing pipelines for speed, reliability, and end-to-end quality.
  • Establish the observability foundation for all services — standardizing metrics, logs, traces, and SLOs to improve visibility and reduce MTTR.
  • Champion DORA-aligned engineering excellence by improving lead time, deployment frequency, change failure rate, and recovery time.
  • Partner with SRE, Architecture, Security, and Product Engineering to embed observability, testing, and release governance into every delivery stage.
  • Drive continuous improvement in Java build, test, and deployment quality, reducing defect leakage and operational incidents.
  • Measure and act on telemetry insights to improve developer productivity, system health, and customer experience.
  • Cultivate a high-performing, hands-on engineering culture that values simplicity, quality, and data-driven improvement.
  • Act as both a strategic leader and a technical contributor—setting direction while engaging deeply in design, diagnostics, and delivery execution.

• • 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years leading teams in platform, CI/CD, or observability domains.
  • Strong foundation in Java development and modern build/test practices — able to guide quality improvements across large, distributed systems.
  • Proven success transforming CI/CD pipelines for faster delivery, higher reliability, and measurable improvement in DORA metrics.
  • Deep understanding of cloud-native environments, with hands-on experience in Container technologies like Docker,Kubernetes, Terraform, and GitLab CI/CD.
  • Expertise in observability frameworks (Dynatrace, OpenTelemetry, Grafana,, etc.) and experience building actionable telemetry for large-scale systems.
  • Experience partnering with SRE, Security, and Architecture to embed observability, governance, and automation into delivery workflows.
  • A data-driven mindset — using metrics and insights to improve developer experience, reliability, and operational maturity.
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and influence skills across technical and executive stakeholders.
  • Passion for engineering excellence and continuous improvement — helping builders move faster with confidence and accountability.
